Drought in Swaziland

According to Deputy Prime Minister’s office Principal Secretary Khangeziwe Mabuza told the media, the first distribution point would be Dvokodvweni Inkhundla, where trucks are expected to arrive at 10:00am to start the food distribution immediately.

Earlier, National Maize Corporation (NMC) was paid E35 million to supply 6 000 metric tonnes of maize and beans to be distributed in drought stricken areas starting today.

The Principal Secretary said, “the maize will not only be taken to the Lubombo and Shiselweni regions but anywhere around the country where the need is dire.”
