Effective from December 2016, The Swazi motorists have to face a new South African law while traveling to South Africa.
According to Police, Chief Information and Communications Officer Superintendent Khulani Mamba confirmed that the South African Police Service (SAPS) will now require motorists to bring along the below mentioned documents; blue book, a valid driver’s licence and of course the travel document.
“However if the car belongs to someone else, the driver will be required to produce an affidavit from the owner, certified copy of Identity Card, blue book, passport and licence,’’ he said. He said the law was also applicable to those who would be driving rental cars as they would be expected to produce a letter of authorisation from the agent while those financed by banks would be also expected to produce a letter from the financial institution.
“They will also be expected to bring along their driver’s licence and passports as well,’’ he mentioned.
