SRA (Swaziland Revenue Authority) plans to launch “Automated System for Customs Data (ASYCUDA)  in February 2016.

ASYCUDA world is a computerized system which was designed by the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to assist customs authorities all over the world to automate and control their core processes and obtain timely, accurate and valuable information to support government projections and planning.

The benefits of the web-system were that it would be accessible from anywhere, said by SRA Commissioner General Dumisani Masilela. “We will work with the ministry of information, communications and technology, Swaziland Post and Telecommunications Corporation (SPTC) and have already engaged Swazi MTN,” he further added.

According to him, 95 percent of big businesses are tax compliant.

This means that only five percent of big businesses are not tax compliant. SRA Commissioner General Dumisani Masilela said tax compliance was very important.

“Thank you all our compliance taxpayers,” he said.
