The ‘Network for Women Living with Disability’ is a group of Swazis with disabilities who produce handicraft products such as beads, necklaces, emahiya, shoes, traditional wear. The women have braved all odds and are selling these products to earn a living.
The network attended the expo courtesy of the ministry of commerce, industry and trade, in collaboration with the Small Enterprise Development Company (SEDCO), Micro Finance Unit (MFU) and the Swaziland Investment Promotion Authority (SIPA).
They have been capacitated in a training course on product development facilitated by MFU under a programme called market testing survey. This was intended at assisting handicraft producers in identifying global markets. This is not the group’s first award as they also scooped another one during the local Swaziland International Trade Fair (SITF) 2015.
